Crisis Intervention
Upon receiving a session with a social worker, we provide ongoing support for women and children victims of conjugal violence or family violence, our trained professionals offer emotional support, safety planning, and practical guidance.
We can help with:
- Immediate emotional support
- Safety planning and risk assessment
- Connection to emergency shelter(s)
- Referrals to legal and other services
- Social services and legal aid offices
Accompaniments
Accompaniments are available only to clients of the Shield of Athena. Clients must have completed an initial interview and have an active file with us. They must also be currently receiving services from our organization.
We accompany you to:
- Legal proceedings and court hearings
- Social services and government offices
Support Services for Women & Children
Individual Services
Confidential consultations, crisis intervention, counselling and referrals for women exposed to violence. Services for children are determined by the social worker on file.
Legal Clinic
Free and confidential legal information on divorce, criminal charges, custody and access, division of family patrimony, and more from our lawyer and law interns.
Support Groups
Closed, confidential support groups providing a safe environment to discuss, listen, and break the cycle of violence.
Multilingual Services
Confidential consultations, crisis intervention, counselling and referrals for women and children exposed to violence.
