Services for women
The Shield of Athena employs trained social workers, caseworkers, educators and cultural intermediaries who offer multidisciplinary, multilingual services to women who are victims of conjugal or family violence.
All services are confidential and include:
- individual services (including crisis intervention, counselling, information and referral)
- support groups
- emergency shelter
Services are offered at our Montreal and Laval offices, at our shelter Athena’s House and, in certain cases, at the clients’ homes. All services are offered free of charge.

I am writing to invite mothers who have survived experiences of conjugal violence and who are now looking for some information and support on parenting after a child's exposure to violence. The group looks at what a child's experience of violence is and how mothers can support their child(ren) in adapting positive behaviors in the wake of trauma. The group will take place on Fridays from 10 am to 12 pm beginning September 9, 2011 for 7 weeks. I hope that everyone will take the time to think of a family who can benefit from these services or post them for mothers to see. For more details
Sincerely,
Cyndi Masi
